Information
One of the few songs in the record on which Matt Bellamy is only credited on its composition and the last song on the record. A song that starts with melancholic strings, however, by the end, an uplifting electronic tune takes the lead role, similar sounding to the Simulation Theory era.
The title makes reference to the very first words that open the novel:
It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen. Winston Smith, his chin nuzzled into his breast in an effort to escape the vile wind
― George Orwell, 1984
