Voting for nominations began on the 7th of December 2010,[1] while the resulting nominations were announced on the 24th of January.[1][2] The 2011 ceremony will take place inside Brixton Academy, London, on the 23rd of February.[1][2]

Best British Band

Muse was nominated.[2][3]. Also nominated were Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Foals and Kasabian.[2]

Best Live Band

Muse was nominated.[2][3] Also nominated were Arcade Fire, Biffy Clyro, Foals and Kasabian.[2]

Hero of the Year

Matthew Bellamy was Nominated.[3] Also nominated were Julian Assange, Lady Gaga, Gerard Way and Kanye West.[2]

Hottest Man

Bellamy and Dominic Howard were nominated.[2][3] Also nominated were Billie Joe Armstrong, Jared Leto and Alex Turner.[2]

The nominations for the 2010 NME Awards were announced on 25 Jan. The Awards were held on 24 February at the O2 Academy Brixton.[4] [5]

The Resistance was nominated. Also nominated: Arctic Monkeys - Humbug, Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant, and The Horrors - Primary Colours. Kasabian won.

The 2009 Teignmouth gig was nominated. Blur at Hyde Park won.
