The Temper Trap

The Temper Trap are an Australian indie rock band, originally formed in Melbourne, Australia, before relocating to London, UK in 2008. The band formed in 2005 and consists of vocalist and guitarist Dougy Mandagi, drummer Toby Dundas, bassist Jonathon Aherne and keyboardist Joseph Greer. The original member, guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto, parted ways with the band in 2013.
The beginnings of the band begin in 1999, when Mandagi, as a busker, in Melbourne, met Aherne. Mandagi also met Dundas while the two worked in a clothing store in 2005. The three decided to form a band, originally set to be named "Temper Temper" before being rejected, due to its use by another band from the US. Their self-titled EP was released in 2006, with their first LP, Conditions, being released in 2009. The lead single of the album, Sweet Disposition, remains one of their most prominent works, peaking in the top 10 on the UK, Irish and Belgian singles charts while reaching number 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Throughout their career, The Temper Trap have played as support for artists like Silversun Pickups, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay and Imagine Dragons, and have played major festivals such as Glastonbury, V Festival, Roskilde and Big Day Out. The band won the Best Group and Most Popular Australian Single for Sweet Disposition during the ARIA Music Awards in 2010, and in 2012, their second album was awarded with the Best Rock Album ARIA Award, while they won the Best Group Award.
The Temper Trap are set to support Muse in 2026, during their North American leg of summer amphitheatre shows for The Wow! Signal tour. They will be joined by Bloc Party in July, and Portugal. The Man in the August portion of gigs.
