The concert was part of the first European leg of The Resistance Tour, in support of the album The Resistance, announced on the 1st of June, 2009.[1] Fan pre-sale information and links were announced on the 3rd of June.[6] Pre-sale took place on the 5th–6th[6] and general sale started on the 6th.[1] In an announcement on the Parken Stadium website it was stated that 17,000 tickets were on sale, which only include the grass and parts of the tribunes[2]—usually, the Parken Stadium can host up to around 50,000 visitors for concerts.[7]
