Atlanta Central Park
Central Park, formerly known as Bedford-Pine Park before 1999, is a 17-acre public park, located in the Fourth Ward West neighbourhood of Atlanta, in Georgia, USA. The park was created as a result of the f City of Atlanta Urban Renewal in the 1960s. A sports-oriented park, it includes several basketball courts, tennis courts, multi-purpose fields for football, kickball and softball, and a small playground. It also has an indoor recreation center with a basketball court, small gym and meeting rooms.
During the spring and summer times, the park hosts free movie nights for the community, with food festivals also being held regularily. The park is also known for hosting several of Atlanta's music festivals; The Music Midtown festival (held in the park since the early 2000s), aswel as the Shaky Knees and the former Shaky Beats music festivals. The Shaky Knees festival is held annually during late spring/early summer months, while the Music Midtown festival takes place during early autumn/late summer. This makes it one of the two parks in Atlanta, together with Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park, to host large music festivals.
