Drones Festivals Tour 2016 | ← | North American Summer Amphitheatre Tour | → | Summer Festivals Tour 2018 |
Officially announced on February 6th, 2017, the North American Summer Amphitheatre Tour was a tour around amphitheatres in the USA, including one stop in Canada. The tour began on May 20th 2017 and lasted until September 20th of the same year.
Information
As its name suggests and as it's mentioned before, the tour featured stops in outdoor amphitheatres across the USA, including one gig in Toronto, Canada. This was a co-headlining tour with 30 Seconds to Mars, joined by special guests Pvris, plus Missio, who replaced Pvris on one gig.
Alongside all the gigs in America, Muse also made four additional stops in the UK, in August, playing Reading and Leeds festivals, a by request gig and the Belfast Vital festival. They also played a gig in New York City's SummerStage in Central Park. Despite having the same stage setup (exception being the NYC gig, which, similar to the Reykjavik in 2016, did not include the monoliths due to the size of the stage), these gigs were not part of the co-headlining tour, but are still included in the list of gigs below.
Stage Design & Show
The stage design was kept the same as with the Drones Festivals Tour, which included eleven movable video monoliths behind the band. Despite that, the outfits were changed completely to visually fit the new album cycle, which started with the release of Dig Down.
