Information

First teased by Matt on Twitter back in November, Muse were announced to play at Lollapalooza on Thursday, August 3rd. This was confirmed on March 22nd by the band and the festival.

This was the third time that Muse were set to headline Lollapalooza Chicago, after doing it in 2007 and 2011.

The Show and cancellation

Due to bad weather and torrential downpour, Muse had to leave the stage and cancel the show after only 3 songs - Dig Down, Psycho, and Hysteria.

On Muse's Instagram, they wrote; "Very sad Chicago City & police evacuated Grant Park early on in our show tonight due to lightning strikes nearby. We will be back as soon as we can. Thanks to all those that were rocking in the storm. Amazing fans as always." Matt added on Twitter that he was "gutted".

The following day, fellow headliners The Killers performed a cover of Starlight during their set as a tribute to the band's curtailed show.
