The famous Fender logo

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (most commonly known simply as Fender) is one of the most popular stringed instrument brands in the world. Founded in 1946 in Fullerton, California, by Leo Fender, their first product included a lapsteel guitar, made in 1946, followed by a Telecaster (originally named Broadcaster), a P-Bass (Precision Bass) and the Stratocaster, all unveiled in the 1950s. Other famous Fender guitar models include the J-Bass (Jazz Bass), Jazzmaster, Jaguar and Mustang. The company is also known for producing amplifiers, effects pedals, guitar parts and accessories and various soundsystems such as IEMs and bluetooth speakers.

Fender is a private corporation, currently located in Scottsdale, Arizona with Andy Mooney serving as the CEO. Acquired in the 1960s, Fender also owns Squier, a much older, former guitar, banjo and violin manufacturer, now producing Fender's budget lines and alternatives, aswell as Bigsby, Jackson, Charvel and Gretsch.

Through the years, both Chris and Matt have used Fender guitars and amps due to their distinct sounds and continue to use them for certain songs and sounds, despite both having signature guitar and bass models.
