Background
This is a guitar built by Hugh in late 2006/early 2007, based on Matt's Delorean. The Ali Top is, like the Delorean, also covered in aluminium but features a locking trem. It was most likely built to replace his Bomber guitar, which has been retired from touring in 2006.
This is Matt's first custom guitar built to have no internal effects. It is however possible that a Fuzz Factory has been installed, this is due to the backplate for the Fuzz Factory being on the back of the guitar (see picture, top right), or it could be that the guitar was designed to have a Fuzz Factory, but it was never installed.
Touring
The guitar made its live debut in Singapore at the 16th January 2007. It was used up until the 2014 Coachella Festival, where it made it's last appearance to date. The guitar has been replaced by the Copper Bomber.
