The gig was announced by the festival on December 10th, 2025, together with the gig at the Cape Town edition of the festival. The two South African gigs would have marked Muse's return to South Africa after 18 years, when they performed in Johannesburg and Cape Town as part of the My Coke Festival in 2008.
