The show experienced a notable malfunction; the curtain that usually drops at the start of Hysteria (to cover the back of the stage so the crew can get Will the Hacker ready for his reveal during Won't Stand Down later in the show) failed to drop. As such, the crew had to manually lower the scaffolding that held the curtain up during Hysteria, untie the curtain, and lift it back up again to cover the stage as per usual. The resulting delay to Will being inflated could explain why Citizen Erased was played before Won't Stand Down, instead of after like shows before and after this one, in order to give the crew enough time to get Will ready. Matt's Oryx guitar also suffered from some technical problems before the aforementioned song, leading to a slight delay before the start of the song.

Information

Announced on September 27th, 2021, Muse headlined the Isle of Wight Festival 2022, together with Lewis Capaldi, Lionel Richie, Kasabian & Pete Thong, amongst others. This is the second time that Muse played at the festival, the last one being in 2007.

The gig took place on June 19th, 2022, in Newport's Seaclose Park.

The Show

Will the Hacker robot was back again on stage after its absence the previous gig, as well as the M1D1 Stealth guitar.
