XFM online 2007-06-20 – Muse Rock Wembley Stadium
Muse Rock Wembley Stadium
This weekend saw the unstoppable Muse make their phenomenal Wembley Stadium debut, treating the crowd to a musical and visual masterpiece with a set including 'Invincible' and 'Knights Of Cydonia'.
Opening with 'Knights Of Cydonia' the UK rock legends thrashed their way through an incendiary set including classics such as 'Stockholm Syndrome', 'Supermassive Blackhole' [sic] and 'Invicible' [sic].
Visually the band matched expectations with an apocalyptic space-themed stage - includinge [sic] xplosive [sic] light displays, ginormous satellite dishes and dangling acrobats inside huge white bubbles floating about above the ecstatic crowd.
The band - who have been on a high since the release of the superb 'Black Holes And Revelations' earlier this year - delivered a near perfect performance with a rapturous audiece [sic] lapping up every last note.
The show reached its apex with an explosive encore during which darkness descended across the stadium and frontman Matt Bellamy asked the audience to simultaneusly [sic] light and hold up their mobile phones, producing an stunning visual scene.
Muse - who certainly lived up to their reputation as the best live band in the world right now - are set to play at Ireland's Oxegen Festival on July 7.
