The Smiths were an English alternative rock band formed in 1983 and disbanded in 1987, consisting of frontman Morrissey, guitarists Johnny Marr and Craig Gannon, bassist Andy Rourke, and drummer Mike Joyce.
Muse covered "Please Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want". Also Matt said that Thoughts of a Dying Athiest was also inspired by The Smiths due to the song having a fast tempo and soft vocals
