Rockers Muse over future
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy - Give it a rest!
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has told nme.com the band have been busy writing new material while on tour on the US - but that he fears they could burn out if they continue working at their current pace.
He said Muse, who are currently completing headlining dates in America following a hugely successful support tour there with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters, would remain only remain on the road for a maximum of eight more months or face creative catastrophe.
"We've been on tour for about a year and we'll probably go for another eight months before we take a break to learn some new music," he said. "We met the Stereophonics in Atlanta and they told us they had been touring for three years without any time off. Some record companies get bands to fall into that trap of touring all the time - it makes for bad music in the long run. I think at most you can get away with doing two albums that way before you need to get some more life experience, take a break and learn more about music so that you can then reinvent yourself and start again."
