Stade Charles-Ehrmann and Palais Nikaia

Stade Charles-Ehrmann (English: Charles-Ehrmann Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Nice, France, featuring a football court and a track field. It was originally built in 1973, and was named Stade de l'Ouest, until it was renovated and re-opened in 2001 together with the Palais Nikaia arena, as part of the Charles-Ehrmann sports complex. It can seat anywhere between 8,000 and 50,000 spectators, depanding on the event. During large events, the large doors on the side of the afforementioned neighbouring Palais Nikaia arena can open, allowing more space for the stage.

The stadium is sometimes used by the OGC Nice football team, for practice or friendly matches, and by their reserves team the Eaglets. The stadium hosted various athletics events through it's history but it's most known for hosting concerts. Musical artists who have done so include Madonna, who performed at the stadium in 1987, 1990, 2008 and 2012, shotting a DVD produced by HBO for the 1990 concert, U2, who also recorded City Of Blinding Lights from the 2009 performance for the U22 live album, and Michael Jackson, who performed at the stadium two times.
