Malmö Malmö Arena
Malmö Arena is a multi-purpose arena located in Malmö, Sweden. It is the second largest indoor arena in Sweden, able to capacitate between 12,600 and 15,500 people, and is the home arena of the Malmö Redhawks ice hockey team. The arena was built between 2007 and 2008 and was designed by Mats Matson of MM Matsson Konsult AB, Hannu Helkiö of Pöyry Architects and Gert Wingårdh of Wingårdh Arkitektkontor. It is owned and operated by Parkfast Arena AB. The building also hosts two restaurants and four bars, twenty kiosks and several fast food locations. The arena also has facilites for ice hockey practice. It is located next to the Emporia mall centre.
Sports events held at the arena include the 2011 World Men's Handball Championships and the 2014 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, and the arena is scheduled to host the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship with Sweden and Poland co-hosting the event. Musical acts who performed at the arena include Bob Dylan, Tom Jones, Cliff Richard, Lady Gaga and more. The 2013 Eurovision Song Contest was also held at the arena.
Muse were supposed to perform at the arena in what would be their first concert in the venue in 2012, but the gig had to be cancelled due to Matt's leg injury.
