In June 2007, festival organiser Stuart Galbraith told NME that he had Muse, Foo Fighters and AC/DC in mind for next year's festival stating "I would have these three because they reflect the enormous breadth of rock music at Download," going on to add "We'd have Foo Fighters and Muse because they're cutting edge and I'd have AC/DC because they're absolutely classic and I've wanted them to play here for the last five years."[1]
On 4th February 2008, it was announced by Kerrang.com that Lostprophets and The Offspring would be headlining Download 2008, along with unconfirmed 'legendary metallers'.[2] Live Nation revealed the following day, through their mailing list, that Kiss would be the third headliner.[3]
