Line 6 Bass POD Pro
Like the guitar version (Line 6 POD Pro, the Line 6 Bass POD Pro is a rack-mount unit of the famous Line 6 POD multi-effects pedal, but made for bass. It's produced by U.S. instrument and audio equipment manufacturer, Line 6, a subsidiary of the Yamaha Corporation. The Bass POD Pro came in two sizes; the regular and the extended, called the Line 6 Bass POD XT Pro. Both PODs include the "A.I.R. The Line 6" innovation (A.I.R. stands for Acoustically Integrated Recording) that simulate the interaction of amplifiers, cabinets, speakers, microphones and the recording room during the recording process.
The standard Bass POD Pro is almost the same as the pedal version. It contains 16 amp models that emulate a variety of legendary amplifiers, 16 adjescent cabinet models and 16 digital effects. It features 36 user programmable channels and a chromatic tuner. It also includes a cabinet tuning mode, which allows the user to select whether or not the unit is running into the D.I. or an external cabinet/another amp. This allows for a better optimisation in terms of sound for the two uses. It has a headphone and MIDI output and two XLR balanced or unbalanced direct outputs; Out 1 for model sound and Out 2 for unprocessed direct out. It also includes a compressor, modelled after the LA-2A. All of the tones can be transfered to other PODs or POD Pros with a MIDI connection or expanded with a ToneTransfer library.
The Bass POD XT Pro is the extended version of the afforementioned Pod Pro, thus having nearly the same features. According to some users though, the effects on the XT Pro are much better in quality than the POD Pro. The POD XT Pro also has a better interface.
Both the standard Bass POD Pro and the Bass POD XT Pro were used by Wolstenholme during the Absolution era.
