Helsinki Hartwall Arena
Hartwall Arena, formerly known as Hartwall Areena until 2014, and also called the Helsinki Areena, Helsingin Areena and Helsingforsarenan is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in the district of Pasila in Helsinki, Finland. The arena opened in 1997 and got the name from it's largest sponsor, Hartwall, a Finnish beverage company based in Helsinki. The arena was built to be ready for Ice Hockey World Championships in 1997 and was designed by SCI Architects, an architectural company. The arena has the capacity of anywhere between 3,000 and 14,000, depending on the event. A smaller practice arena is located in the basement of the main arena and is used by many hockey teams. Since it's opening, it's been the home arena to Jokerit, a Helsinki-based hockey team.
Hartwall Arena has held various events since it's completion including the Ice Hockey World Championships, World Figure Skating Championships, World Cup Of Hockey and NHL Challenge. The arena also hosted the 2016 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. In 2017, one of the EuroBasket Men's European Basketball Championship group stages was held in the arena. In 2018 and 2019, two regular season NHL games between Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets were held in Hartwall Arena. Some of the musical acts that performed in Hartwall Arena include Ghost, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Depeche Mode, Justin Timberlake, The Cure, Nightwish, Blue Man Group and more.
