Analysis and Explanation
Defector, despite being a fan-favourite from Drones, has rarely been played live. After not being played during the Drones Festival Tour, it made its debut at the Music for Life gig in September 2015 as the shows opener after JFK, but strangely it made no further appearances in 2015.
While the songs intro, JFK, was played at every Drones World Tour arena gig, Defector was not played after it, with the band instead opting to play other songs after it such as Revolt, Reapers and Stockholm Syndrome. However, late into the tour, Defector finally returned to the setlists in the JFK slot in May 2016 and made 7 more appearances until the end of the Arena Tour in June.
Considering the fact the song has only been played live 9 times, it looks very unlikely the song will return. However the song was an option at the 2017 London Shepherds Bush Empire by request gig, indicating the band haven't given up on the song yet.

* JFK was played at a small amount of gigs in 2007 as intro music.
** Drones was played twice at every performance from its debut with three exceptions as of the last update. The actual total of gigs is highly inflated in comparison with other songs as a result. It has not been performed twice at festival dates, however, since the end of the 360 Tour in 2016.
