Columbus Value City Arena
Value City Arena, also named The Schottenstein Center in honour of Jerome Scottenstein, founder of Schottenstein Stores Corp. holding company and lead benefactor of the project, is an indoor multi-purpose arena located at The Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio. The arena opened in 1998 and has a maximum capacity of 19,049. The arena was designed by Sink Combs Dethlefs and Moody/Nolan architectural companies. The arena is owned by The Ohio State University Department of Athletics and operated by Columbus Arena Management. The arena is the largest in seating capacity in the Big Ten Conference.
The arena is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball, women's basketball and men's ice hockey teams of NCAA. Events that took place in the arena include 2002's Jeopardy! College Championship, the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship in 2005, aswell as other various NCAA games. Artists who have performed inside the arena include Bruce Springsteen, who also released a live recording of the concert, titled "Schottenstein Center, Ohio 2005", Dave Matthews Band, Elton John, Weezer, Volbeat, The Lumineers and more.
