The only mentions of gigs at the New Railway Inn on the old Muse website from the period of 1994–1998 were in October 1995 and in April 1997. The poster on the top right does not have a year on it, but since the only year of Muse' existence as a band that had 6th June fall on a Friday was 1997, this gig must have taken place in 1997. Which made a mistake remains to be seen. Whether the old Muse website's gig database made a mistake in the month, putting April instead of June and Microcuts.net copied that error, or there was an additional gig in April at the same venue, or there was a mistake in the month on the poster is unknown.
This show is mentioned in a press cutting from July 1997, stating: "At a recent gig at Torquay's New Railway Inn, the band discussed future recording projects with Dennis Smith, owner of Sawmills Studio in Cornwall"[2]
