Muse' first gig outside of the United Kingdom,[source?] which Muse were payed £50 for.[1] Among the very few people[1] in the pub was Chris 'SOUSOUS', who later recorded many Muse concerts.[2] The person who organised the performance did so as a cover for smuggling goods,[1] which Matthew Bellamy later said the band didn't know until returning to the UK in the van they were travelling in.[source?]
The goods reportedly included 200,000 Regal King Size cigarettes and an unspecified amount of red wine and spirits.[1] The van was transported via ferry.[source?]
