Eskelunden

Eskelunden is a 32-acre park, and one of the largest natural areas in the district of Viby J, in Aarhus, Denmark. During the viking era, the place was used as a shipyard. Between 1950s, up until the 1980s, the area of the park was used as a landfill. To this day, the area contains 850,000 cubic meters of waste underground, with half a meter layer of soil on top of it. Eskelunden is located next to the Brabrand Lake and the Riis Forest. The area includes the "nature's pantry", with raspberry and blackberry bushes, apple and pear trees, and edible mushrooms. All visitors can pick samples for themselves.

Eskelunden is also known for its use for cultural and entertainment events. Perhaps one of the most known examples of such is the NorthSide Festival, which recently moved to this area. Muse are set to perform at Eskelunden in June of 2023, at the afforementioned festival, as part of the Will of the People World Tour.
