Background

This guitar is one of approximately 140 Manson MB-1 Matthew Bellamy Signature Guitars so far built by Manson Guitars (as of October 2014). The first batch of 25 were released in September 2009 and this guitar is from the second batch of 25 released in September 2010.

Replica

The specifications of the guitars are almost exactly the same as the Manson M1D1 Mirror but have the paint finishes based on the Manson Black Midi and the Manson Red Glitter. The MB-1 range has a starting price of £3249 for a Black basic version with no midi screen or Manson hardware. To upgrade to a Red Sparkle Finish would be an extra £200, To upgrade to a MIDI Screen would be an additional £319 so an identical one to Matt's costs £3768. To have the Alloy Machine Heads like on Matts Delorean, Doubleneck and Ali Top guitars would be an extra £189.

Touring

This guitar got its first outing (as his Manson Red Glitter was damaged at the previous night's gig), on 11th September 2010 at the Wembley Stadium gig for all the songs in the setlist in Drop D tuning. It has also been used on the 2010 USA Autumn Tour, after Matt's Red Glitter Manson met its demise on the 26th of September at the Los Angeles Staples Center gig. It was replaced by the Manson Santa 2.0.
