Information

A very small, very intimate and very secret gig, which took place in The Cavern Club, Exeter, on April 7th, 2022, in support of Will of the People. First post-pandemic show, and first show in more than two years. Muse were filming the gig for Jim Beam's Welcome Sessions, a series of recorded live shows, in which artists revisit the venues that they kickstarted their careers in. In Muse's case, this is The Cavern, in Exeter, Devon, UK, which saw Muse perform 32 times during their early years (33 times in total, incl. this gig). As such, the gig marked Muse's return to the club after 23 years, when Muse last performed at the venue, in 1999.

Tickets were free, but attendees had to enter a ballot with a £5 compulsory donation to War Child UK. Proceeds went to help children in war-affected areas, such as Ukraine and Yemen. The gig was only eligible for people aged 25 and over. Fans reportedly also had to sign legal documents, with phones confiscated at the doors.

The gig saw live premieres of Won't Stand Down & Compliance. Assassin, Stockholm Syndrome and Agitated were all played in full for the first time since 2018 - the latter two did not appear on the original setlist. Assassin meanwhile was performed in its full Grand Omega Bosses form for the first time since 2005, which included the additional vocals featured in the bridge sung by Matt.[6] Compliance was played on guitar and the Execution Commentary riff was also played for the first time since 2015.

Cavern management shared that the band changed one of the buttons on the wall of their dressing room to say "Will of the People" and the band walked onto the stage to the song Part Time Punks by Television Personalities
