Information
A small and very secret gig, which took place in The Cavern Club, Exeter, on April 7th, 2022, in support of Will of the People. According to SeeTickets, Muse were filming a 45 minute performance for a promotional video. This also marked Muse's return to The Cavern (the club where the band started it all) after 23 years, when Muse last performed at the venue, in 1999. The gig was presumably filmed for Jim Beam's Welcome Sessions - possibly the reason as to why the event was only eligible for people aged 25 and over. Fans also had to sign legal documents, with phones taken away at the doors.
Tickets were free, but attendees had to enter a ballot with a £5 compulsory donation to War Child UK. Proceeds went to help children in war-affected areas, such as Ukraine and Yemen.
The gig saw live premieres of Won't Stand Down & Compliance. According to sources, Stockholm Syndrome & Agitated were also played during the encore, despite not being on the setlist, while Assassin's G.O.B. extended version was performed with vocals. Compliance was played with a guitar.[6]
Matt sung the extra lines on Assassin's Grand Omega Bosses for the first time since its demo version, in 2005. The Execution Commentary riff was also played for the first time since 2015. The full version of Assassin, Stockholm Syndrome and Agitated were played for the first time since 2018.
