well, I don't know that battle of the bands :) On this article or in the interview disc you can read about the one they won; their "first gig ever", and "the only one with the RBD name". The guy on MMB said they were known as RBD :/ --deborah X

A local magazine seems to state that they won at least one semi final in 1995, which Honey Sucks was a part of. Perhaps this is indeed wrong ... Can anyone confirm? --Tene 16:10, 21 June 2007 (BST)

I must be blind. Nevermind, that's clearly about the final. Media mentions would be good though, since there was no solid date on muse-official's gig database, it's impossible to abduce (that really should be a verb) which of the three 1995 Cavern gigs this is. --Tene 16:34, 30 January 2008 (GMT)

Known facts and Qs

• It was definitely in the Cavern, Exeter.
• It was judged by three entities:
  • ABC Music, which is a business that sells equipment and lessons.
  • Jude Rib
  • Sound Scene In Persons
• There were only three Cavern Club gigs listed on the muse-official.com database, which were copied by us before the infamous database corruption and also by microcuts.net.
• There was a very short article written shortly before the final, published in an unknown publication. Looking at the layout, perhaps it was the South Devon Herald (of course, that's pure speculation).
  • Did "Sound Scene" publish the article rather than just submit it to a publication?
• The gig took place on a Monday. The article was written and published less than a week before this Monday.
• Rock Sound republished the article within their own article, which is the only incarnation of the original article we have.
• In Rock Sound's article, they also included alongside a copy of an aftershow pass, entitled "Backstage Access". Written on it is "June 30 1995 bands & crew only for admission to Hospitality Tent not valid for re-admittance to site". This wasn't a gig mentioned on the muse-official database. It talks of a tent.
  • Is the "tent" merely a name that doesn't reflect what it is?
  • Was one of the listings wrong?
  • Was it a gig that wasn't listed on the database?
  • Is the pass actually from a gig that Muse attended rather than played?
    • What festival took place on the 30th of June 1995?

• Assuming that both the local 1995 article and the old muse-official.com database were correct, this concert must have taken place on one of the following dates:
  • March 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
  • April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
  • October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

The following flyer came from a website about the history of Exeter Cavern. The year has to be 1995 because that's the only year in the 1990's where Jan 23rd was a Monday. This has to be the gig that Muse lost to Honey Sucks for the title, not in March.
