Bellamy is really scared of spiders, to the point of phobia. "Millipedes as well. I'm scared of legs." says Matt.

In 2000, Matt told Melody Maker that he believes that we evolved from spiders - and that they float around space. In contradiction, he claimed that he wishes that the gravity in the world were lighter so spiders would die.[1]
