Background

This was Matthew Bellamy's first guitar to features an X-Y MIDI plate, able to control a number of devices, including a Korg Kaoss pad, or a Digitech Whammy etc. This feature has since been included in many of Bellamy's guitars such as the Red Glitter and the Black Midi. The guitar also has a pair of hot P90's in the bridge position and a Fernandes Sustainer pickup at the neck.

Additional Information

The guitar made its live debut at Radio 1's Big Weekend on the 13th May 2006. It is featured in music videos for "Invincible", "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" and an alternative version of " Supermassive Black Hole" (watch). It can also be seen in the Making of Uprising video.

Although it is officially named as "M1D1 Black" it is better known to fans as "Kaoss Manson".
