JP version of BH&R

Hey, sorry if the information I put up on the BH&R album page was incorrect, I was browsing for the tour edition of the album online and kept finding a different Japanese edition to the normal one with that extra live and behind the scenes stuff. Are those extras not included then? It's really weird of them to 'lie' like that!

Thanks Hyper chondriac muser.

Well, I and at least one other member of Muselive bought it from HMV Japan, and when it arrived, low and behold it was the same as the already-released Australian version (aside from including Glorious on the first disc and an obi strip). --Tene 00:24, 15 May 2007 (BST)

Muse in German music magazine

Hi Tene,

thanks for your big efforts in redoing all the pages. I am also not amused about it. But the muse is "kissing" me again and hopefully I find back my will to contribute some informations again...

Please be aware of cover story of German alternative music magazine: http://www.visions.de/visions/back-issues/161/ I don't know how to "import" it here to Musewiki. Would like to ask you to add it to media pages. Thanks a lot!

Don't know how to contact you in other ways (email etc.) So I did it here, hope you don't mind.

Kind regards, Steffen (7steffen)

To do so, just "Upload file" and use [[image:(name here)|thumb|right|(description here)]] to link to it. --Tene 18:51, 21 July 2006 (BST)
Thanks. I created the page, will buy the magazine 16th August and paste the article when time and internet available.

Gig Pages

Hey Tene. Basically, if you create a new gig page you absolutely have to create a link to it on the main Gigs page. Otherwise, it just stands alone as a lonely page. That's why I made the Toulouse one. I'm getting a bit pissed off with people who don't go and create gig pages on the main one before creating the page on the gig.

They're all in the Gigs category, so it's quite easy to see them on the gigs category page.

Kerrang article

I see you have used my transcription of the Kerrang article  ;) ADAM

No, I looked at the scan & transcribed it myself. -Tene
Why the hell did you do that! Lol! I typed it up on the day it came out in the official boards! ADAM
I don't visit the official boards -Tene

lower case conventions

Hiya, do you think we should keep the old articles that redirect people to the new one or delete them? Eg delete Blackout (Song) as its been moved to Blackout (song)

I would delete them. I'd also delete the obsolete singles pages (eg Bliss CD2) since they're now merged. Tene 11:35, 16 May 2006 (BST)
I've assigned you as a sysop so you can move the articles properly (none of that redirecting crap). It also means that you'll be able to delete articles so yeah, use it wisely :D

Yo, just a quick scale of the work needed for this lower case conversion mwahaha probably better deleting the pages first and using this to track down places that have it

leaving certain redirects

I think stuff like Chris,Dom,Matt shouldn't be deleted, reason being is that people should be allowed to be lazy with the interlinking, so yeah :D

Fair enough --Tene 19:24, 16 May 2006 (BST)

The retard who keeps jamming the forget password button

Ignore him, he's obviously not doing all of this at home, so he'll be able to use another ip address and all, he tried putting my email address as one of his logins so he can abuse it silly but I changed it on the table and all. Its the same person again...good old Rowan Edwards. But yeah, best not give him the fun he wants and let him grow bored of it all. --crazybobbles 22:06, 4 September 2006 (BST)

Dorothy

Hey Tene, I know this may sound strange, and you probably won't believe me, but the person who registered with the Musername 'Dorothy' and added an alternitive title on the Assassin page is a wanted paedophile...you wouldn't supply me with his IP address, would you? I know it's hard to believe, but it's the truth StuCorciM 18:21, 11 September 2006 (BST)

Dont worry, sorted it out. Turns out both users are peados. --crazybobbles 18:27, 11 September 2006 (BST)
I was just about to ask for your approval for doing the same thing. --Tene 18:29, 11 September 2006 (BST)

Sorry about this evening

Guess our friend still feels bitter from not having his parody lyrics added on. I'll see if I can find some extension which requires users to verify themselves with an email account and all, hopefully that will sort him out. --crazybobbles 00:43, 29 September 2006 (BST)

KoC deals

The best I founds was on ebay, £4.99 = £3 p&p, no cheaper £5 deals around. It's so annoying, the usual sites have nothing. The new pics I added come from Eil. Complete rip off there though. ۞ 00:38, 25 November 2006 (GMT)

Article Transcribing

Hi there, do you want a hand in tackling the sheer number of articles that need to be transcribed? I was thinking of setting up a permanent home for Muse magazine articles at some point on my own webspace seeing that Rocketbabydolls.com hasn't been updated in an aeon as well, but obviously a record should be kept on the Wiki. Let me know if there's anything I can help with. :) --Evie 12:34, 9 March 2007 (GMT)

References

Seems like you're the big daddy of editing here these days so I thought I'd pass it by you. The wiki's pretty awesome now, and I like how much it's all referenced but thought I'd point out that where you quote the same source lots of times you could be doing it with just one reference. See what I did to London Wembley Stadium 2007 - 17th (gig) for example. Neater and easier to edit yadayadayada. Also, you might want to change the $2 in MediaWiki:Cite_references_link_many_format to $3 like in Wikipedia, so all the separate links read "a", "b", "c" etc rather than "15.1", "15.2"... Keep it up :) BigBlueFish 20:59, 1 May 2007 (BST)

Being a bit of a Mediawiki noob, I didn't realise that was possible ;) I'll take your suggestions on board. --Tene 21:10, 1 May 2007 (BST)
Editing that configuration file didn't seem to work though :/ Maybe I need to be a bureaucrat to edit it? --Tene 21:31, 1 May 2007 (BST)
Seems like it was a cache problem. I tried again, and low and behold it worked. Thanks again! --Tene 01:55, 6 May 2007 (BST)
Nice one... looking good :) BigBlueFish 16:36, 6 May 2007 (BST)

Oh my gosh.

Where have you got this crazy idea of playing Stockholm Syndrome backward ? This is so weird, it's like "hidden lyrics" behind the forward refrain. XX"""" It's scaring me. SSBMboss 00:54, 9 June 2007 (BST)

Muse singalong

I think there needs to be an article about it, I sort of promised them for one, but the question is where since it's not really a gig and all :/ --crazybobbles 10:45, 21 June 2007 (BST)

I wasn't there so I couldn't help write it ;) I just suggest just adding a "See also" link under both dates to that article. And categorising, of course. --Tene 15:15, 21 June 2007 (BST)

What to do next

In response to that: I think the bass section isn't very good yet. I'd love to help with it, but I don't know how. I mean... if you go to (Matt's) guitars article, it's organized as brand's alphabetical order, but the basses article is organized by era. Which way is better? I like both, so we could organize guitars sections as eras and viceversa. And also, we should create specific articles for some of Chris basses, just like we did with Mansons.

PS: BTW, could you look at the talk article of the Media section? I asked something a few days ago, maybe you can answer me :) --Susurr0 20:08, 14 Jul 2007 (BST)

I have absolutely 0 knowledge about guitars, including bass ones so I'm not much use there.
As for organisation, I guess era with alphabetical organisation within eras would be the most "scalable", i.e. it would work with lots of listed guitars ... I don't know which would work better really.
I agree on the separate bass articles bit. --Tene 21:13, 14 July 2007 (BST)
OK, I'll try to contribute in that article, then. If someone else can help me...
Apart from that... there's not a lot of work to do, really, but there are some things to do. Two examples of what we can improve are: the gig's section (we have to add all the dates... some day) and of course, keep editing and adding set lists and info about the recent gigs and adding future ones; and the media articles' section (there are lots of old interviews, from Showbiz and OoS eras, which are really really funny). Also the Main Page... mmmm, I've been thinking about it, and I think it could be more like a "proper" main page, like the Wikipedia one (with featured articles, news, and maybe a "next gigs" table, or something like that).
So, as I said, there are some work to do yet (and it always will), but everything is quite complete now. --Susurr0 23:28, 25 Jul 2007 (BST)

Deleting useless articles

Hello Tene, you seem to be the only active admin so that's why I ask you for this kind of things. I found some others: Special:Unusedcategories. Also these Special:BrokenRedirects need to be fixed somehow.

Thanks!

Thank you for cleaning up my messy main page project! I guess I'll move on to the collapsible tables mess now :P Thanks again! 7 18:11, 20 December 2007 (GMT)

Thank you for making articles on the material I uploaded, it's superawesome to see it up here! :D You're doing such an amazing job! --Arvin 23:00, 26 December 2007 (GMT)

Song Anthology

Domcrasher, ۞ , Muserwiki and myself have been working on an alternative to the Category:Songs page as a main list of songs. (see: Song Anthology). We ask if "songs" on the navagation bar could possibly be changed or redirected to the song anthology.

Such a change would be greatly apreciated :D

7 on the behalf of Domcrasher, ۞ , and Muserwiki 02:52, 14 January 2008 (GMT)

More Main Page stuff....

I already uhh... de-glarified the border on the main page, so could you fix it, please? (I'd do it myself, but I lack sysops rights, sorry if I'm bugging -//-) 7 02:21, 15 January 2008 (GMT)

Demo tape rips

I've forwarded your message to Paul who'll be the one ripping the tape, since is up to him how it is done (and FireSka if he wishes). The plan is get the original, unedited files online so that anyone can edit them how and for whatever they wish, as well as making flacs and mp3s for whoever just wants to listen to our versions. Obviously I'm leaving the technical bits to the people who know what they're doing :) ۞ 09:13, 3 March 2008 (GMT)

Sound Republic and Astoria

I was just browsing through the recent changes and noticed your comment about the two gigs. Uno are definitely from different gigs, unless either of the recordings is not from where we think they are from. --Muserwiki 06:04, 1 April 2008 (BST)

Could you delete a couple pages for me?

Hey, if you've got a spare minute could you delete a few pages that are now redundant please?

Cheers -Jakalope 03:36, 29 April 2008 (BST)

Oh, as well, would you mind if I tried to come up with a better way to organise Tablature? It's so horrible to navigate as it is. I was thinking maybe a bit more like this. -Jakalope 04:55, 29 April 2008 (BST)

I didn't lose my mind, I swear

With those redirects, I mean. I just went through Special:DoubleRedirects and sorted them out. -frozenjakalope 23:55, 2 May 2008 (BST)

I don't recall thinking you had ;). Yes, I'd sussed that's what you were doing. Probably should set up a request for deletion template. --User:Tene 01:50, 3 May 2008 (BST)

Plymouth bootleg

Hey, I was just wondering if there had been any news of the bootleg tape of Plymouth Hoe 1997 (gig)? I don't frequent Muselive, so I usually miss news on things like this. -frozenjakalope 06:47, 22 May 2008 (BST)

Sound clips

Whilst there's some overhaulage of the Riff & Jams page going on, I thought I'd upload small audio clips of each one. Is there any sort of guideline for uploading sound clips, and any specific format it should be in? -frozenjakalope 18:53, 8 July 2008 (BST)

Well, I'd say OGG Vorbis, but I should think most would prefer mp3.
I don't think there have been any audio clips actually uploaded via the wiki, I think crazybobbles just put those we have on the server. --Tene 21:28, 8 July 2008 (BST)
Ah, if I'd bothered to look at Special:Upload I'd have seen that mp3 is the only permitted audio type anyway. -frozenjakalope 21:57, 8 July 2008 (BST)
while we're on the subject of sound clips. the album previews are awful, really compressed. --Wilfio 21:38, 8 July 2008 (BST)
And this is a very good point. Whilst I'm doing the riffs, I can redo them if no one objects. -frozenjakalope 21:57, 8 July 2008 (BST)
Actually, on second thoughts, these samples seem to be a bit superfluous. I can't see why anyone would sit through 5 minutes of samples when they can visit the song pages and listen there. -frozenjakalope 01:40, 9 July 2008 (BST)

Nagyszínpad

Hi! Nooo, Nagyszínpad means Main Stage, nothing to do with Nagyszénás, only sounds similar.:)

Tour Tickets

I feel your pain about the tour tickets, i got pretty lucky with the presale but didn't manage to get any in the general sale. very envious of your O2 friday ticket. no doubt that night will be the best of the tour, just to spite me as it's the only night i didn't get a ticket for. Your tickets prayer on Muselive made me laugh hard :) do you write for a living? --Wilfio 18:52, 5 June 2009 (BST)

Mm, I think the first night will have the epics I'm hoping to hear, just making sure (as usual) I get to hear all the songs. :P Whether it's the most energetic- if energetic is put in place of best, I think I agree, which is why I was hoping to get standing tickets for the second date. Ah well, presence is better than lack thereof.
... Glad you enjoyed the joke and you could say that - I'm a student. --Tene 18:30, 6 June 2009 (BST)

Discoboxes

You probably know this already. A bunch of the disco boxes on the pages linked to in discography are broken. specifically the Box sets, Promo compliations and Unofficial have chronology sections that need completing. Most of these just need a type defined but some have different types and so the chronology wont work. any ideas for how to fix this?       Wilf  Talk 18:42, 5 August 2009 (BST)

musewire / muse

what is to be done about the fact that none of the references pointing to twitter.com/musewire work any more? is it just a case of manually going through each page and changing all the links? what about the names of the references themselves - is it best to keep these as musewire or change them too. just wondering, don't mind helping out to change them all, thought it best not to go mad though before asking... AJ` 02:33, 28 August 2009 (BST)

I think just changing the link(s) would be best. --Tene 13:33, 28 August 2009 (BST)

Media archive

Is MIA from the sidebox, and the links on the front page. Makes it a little tricky to get to easily :P -frozenjakalope 15:49, 2 September 2009 (BST)

Mm, makes it harder for people who aren't using it to find it, you see. If you can find some way of including it for editors only, I guess that would be okay. Otherwise, bookmark. ;) --Tene 15:51, 2 September 2009 (BST)
