Description
A song influenced by contemporary R&B such as Timbaland[3], using a drum machine and vocoder-laden vocals.[2] Matt plays neither guitar nor piano on "Undisclosed Desires",[3] whilst Chris plays slap bass.[4] The result is apparently very reminiscent of Depeche Mode.[2] According to Matt the song is very personal in nature, relating to his relationship with his girlfriend.[5]
At live performances, Matt plays his Keytarcaster Manson.
It was played twice on 7 September 2009 as part of MuseNight on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Zane Lowe.
It was announced on the official website on 2nd November 2009 that Undisclosed Desires would be the second single taken from The Resistance. The video features the band playing in a futuristic looking studio, with a girl dressed as a cheerleader, with her clothes made from wiring dancing to the song.
Lyrics
I know you've suffered But I don't want you to hide It's cold and loveless I won't let you be denied
Soothing I'll make you feel pure Trust me You can be sure
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognise your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart
You trick your lovers That you're wicked and divine You may be a sinner But your innocence is mine
Please me Show me how it's done Tease me You are the one
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognise your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart
Please me Show me how it's done Trust me You are the one
I want to reconcile the violence in your heart I want to recognise your beauty's not just a mask I want to exorcise the demons from your past I want to satisfy the undisclosed desires in your heart
