The only mentions of gigs at the New Railway Inn on the old Muse website from the period of 1994-1998 were in October 1995 and in April 1997. The poster on the top right does not have a year on it, but since the only year of Muse' existence as a band that had June 6th fall on a Friday was 1997, this gig must have taken place in 1997. Which made a mistake remains to be seen. Whether the old Muse website's gig database made a mistake in the month, putting April instead of June and microcuts.net copied that error, or there was an additional gig in April at the same venue, or there was a mistake in the month on the poster is unknown.
This show is mentioned in a press cutting from July 1997, stating: "At a recent gig at Torquay's New Railway Inn, the band discussed future recording projects with Dennis Smith, owner of Sawmills Studio in Cornwall"[2]
