With the Will Of The People tour, Matt Change his combo solution Axe Fx 2 and Kemper to Axe FX 3 for Amp and effect simulation. It's one of the biggest change since The Resistance Tour.

With the Simulation Theory tour, Matt and Matt's tech brought in even more changes compared to the Drones tour, mainly to accomodate the 80s soundscapes and all the guitar synths on the album. The Skrydstrup MR10 has been replaced with an RJM Music Technology's Effect Gizmo, while the Skrydstrup Custom unit is still used. The Korg SDD-3000 digital delay has returned after it's been ditched for live use as of the start of The 2nd Law tour, this time in a pedal format - Matt's using two of them.

Drones Tour

Some small changes have been made to Matts rig since The 2nd Law era. He has a new tech, Chris Whitemyer, who operates differently from Matt's previous tech, Jason Baskin. He has noticeably differently styles of guitar routing and set up. For example guitars are now numbered with "1,2,3,4" in the flight cases and correspond to the numbers on the guitar straps. Wireless units and now in pouches rather than exposed like during The 2nd Law tour. Matt seems to have also ditched the additional Liquid Foot Controller Junior. He also tends to do patch switches himself more often.

Matt switched from two standard Kempers to three rack versions, probably due to the increase in song presets and new sounds with their growing discography.

The 2nd Law Tour

The major change in Matt's setup transitioning to the T2L era were the amps. He ditched all amps and replaced them with Kemper Profiling Amplifiers with all of his amps digitally profiled. He's running the Kempers in parallel, each running it's own amp, allowing Matt to blend the low and high gain amplifiers together, like he used to with real ones. The basis of the rest of the setup remained the same as with The Resistance tour.

For the Absolution tour, Matt began using racks and rack units, probably due to the amount of gear needed for their then growing guitar soundscapes.

For the OoS tour, Matt was able to simplify the pedal board compared to the Showbiz tour.

This was due to Matt starting to use Manson guitars with built-in fuzz and whatnot.
