History with Muse
It was only in 2015 that I met these monsters. I was 13 years old, Drones had just been released, but how I've met them has nothing to do with Drones at all. I was at a friend's home, game night, talking a lot, and he showed me he'd just got a game from the Guitar Hero franchise.; it was the third. Amongst tracks from Black Sabbath (whice I've never really liked that much), Disturbed, Slipknot, Metallica and Slayer, there was this tiny little band that got my thoughts confused like hell. Knights of Cydonia was THE banger — and happily, the first song I've ever heard from british rock band Muse. What was that? A nearly instrumental track with such deep vocals and massive guitar riffs (funny fact: I thought it was a female singing in it, because of the tons of layers of falsetto voices screaming the hell out). After a few years thinking about it endlessly, one day I reached home after school and opened Google. "Muse band" I wrote. Google described them as "Alternative Rock", then I heard Madness, then Uprising and I was like... "ok, what the fuck?". I was expecting more of that guitar and falsettos breaking everything. So I gave up on Muse. A few months after this incident, suddenly Uprising popped up on my recommendations and I found it freaking fire. Ok, I've listened to Madness again and fell in love. Pop, Rock and Western-ish Rock. For like 2 months these 3 songs were literally everything I've listened to. I loved Muse. It was time for more, at that time Muse had 7 studio albums released and I just needed to accept this journey. It took me 6 years to fully listen to their full discography including B-Sides, rarities and all of this stuff. Every time I'd hear 3 to 6 new songs, those songs were my little babies for months. Then I'd move on to the next 3 to 6.I started simple, with songs like Plug In Baby, Time Is Running Out, you know the drill. It was only in my second year of Muse that I started my journey with the symphonies, the church organs, synthwave, raw experimental rock and deep ballads; I got shocked by the gift God had given me. What a band. Since 2021, the year I finished my discoveries with Muse, I've already joined the Twitter community ready to discuss, created a YouTube channel and translated their full discography to my country language, wrote alternating lyrics for their songs, learned 13 Muse songs entirely on the electric guitar, wrote short stories based off their songs, added their songs to my place of work, memorized the first 3 seconds of every Muse song and made a Muse's Finest playlist on Spotify (you can search it and find it under my name). Also, normally my takes are hot so not everyone keeps up with the friendship with me. It happens.
Fun Fact: When Simulation Theory was released, I unironically didn't listen to it for almost a year because I was in love with other songs and just decided I was going to have years of my life to listen to Muse and I just needed to keep it slow to appreciate the most I could. I think I've listened to it on August 2019 only (lmao).
