The Drones World Tour will officially begin on November 17th, 2016 in Palacio de Los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. Muse have also released an official trailer for the Drones World Tour which can be seen here.

Information

The tour will being in fall of 2015 and end in summer of 2016.

This is also the first time the band will be performing in the middle of the arena on a 360 stage, with the audience surrounding them. As said to muse.mu "The Drones World Tour will see the band perform for the first time “in the round” from the middle of the arena. This stage design and configuration will give fans a true 360 degree audio/visual sensory experience."

According to Matt, this is going to be their version of the famous Pink Floyd's The Wall.

Stage and Tour Design

The stage will consist of a round circle in the middle of the arena with two runways, spanning across the entire arena, each one with a hammerhead on the end. The runways are low, so the band can get intimate with the crowd. According to Glen Rowe, the circle in the middle moves one revolution per hour; "The idea is Matt starts there and an hour later he comes back so in the show everyone sees him (upclose) twice."

The tour will also include a swarm of 16 custom made self-controlled drones. According to Muse's tour designer Oli Metcalfe, they've been able to work with a Dutch company that have written a piece of software which can control a whole swarm of robots, controlled by a computer and tracking systems.

The visual aspects of the tour will be held by Moment Factory, a Montreal-based new media and entertainment studio which create multimedia enviroments with a combination of lights, animation, sound and special effects. They've made several multimedia art installations and projects and they've also worked with other musical artists such as Bon Jovi, Madonna, Imagine Dragons and Nine Inch Nails.
