Description

Possibly about a bad relationship. An early Muse song originally recorded on the Newton Abbot demo. The song contains a section in the unusual time signature of 5/4.

Additional information

A live favourite in the Showbiz tours and played occasionally in 2001. The outro riff of Agitated is sometimes played live after " Stockholm Syndrome".

The song made a live comeback in 2013, beginning when it was played in Helsinki on the final show of the stadium tour. It continued to be played at subsequent shows in Asia and North America, usually following Stockholm Syndrome.

The released recording of the song was mastered at the Abbey Road studios in London.[1]

Bears a striking resemblance to Mission of Burma's 'Laugh the World Away', from the Album 'Vs.' (released 1982).

At 2:00 someone, possibly Matthew Bellamy, says something like "Emo" or "Hello".

The outro of the song (1:53 to 2:17) is written and played in 5/4 timing.

Lyrics

You make me agitated

With all the things you´ve hated But you´re uncomplicated So why should it affect you That my loving was so untrue?

You do it to me sweetly To my yeah yeah You do it to me lovely To my yeah yeah

You try to make me crazy You make me agitated But we´re not suffocated And why should it affect you That my loving was so untrue?

You do it to me sweetly To my yeah yeah You do it to my lovely To my yeah yeah

Demo version

You make me agitated

With all the things you´ve hated But you´re uncomplicated So why should it affect you That my loving was so untrue?

You do it inside me sweetly To my yeah yeah You do it to me lovely To my yeah yeah

You do it to me lovely You know I can I said it But you're uncomplicated So why should it affect you That my loving was so untrue?

You do it inside me sweetly To my yeah yeah You do it to me lovely To my yeah yeah

You do it to me sweetly You know that I could never love you You never knew me But I can tell that you can do it You do it to me sweetly I never let you down Do it to me my lovely Oh you can it
