The Monte del Gozo Auditorium is an open-air music venue situated approximately 3 kilometers away from the city of Santiago de Compostela. It was built in 1993 as a welcome site for the pilgrims of the Way of St. James. It's mostly unused except for a few concerts every year or when there is a Holy Compostellan Year (whenever July 25 falls on a Sunday; the next will be 2010). It has a capacity of approximately 30,000 people.
So far there have been performances by Muse, Lou Reed, The Cure, Starsailor, Bruce Springsteen, Maná, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Andrés Calamaro and Fito y Fitipaldis.
