Fender Aloha Stratocaster

Specs

Body: Aluminium with Hawaiian patterns

Neck & fingerboard: Maple

Pickups: Three lace sensor single coils

The Fender Aloha Stratocaster is a limited edition guitar made by the Fender Custom Shop. Only 153 of these were made.

Matthew Bellamy paid his old guitar technician £200 pounds for it. The guitar is now estimated to be worth in the region of £2000. Apparently, the guitar is difficult to keep in tune due to its age.

It weighs just 8.00 lbs. and has a nice fat nut width of just over1 11/16 inches and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Aluminium body, hand engraved with a Hawaiian scene by master artisan Ron Chacey, contoured on back and lower bass bout, and one-piece highly figured 'birds-eye' maple neck and fretboard with 22 frets and green 'pearl' dot position markers and Aloha and palm tree pearl inlays by Larry Sifel. Small headstock with Fender logo inlaid in abalone and a cresting wave also inlaid in abalone above the logo. On the ball end of the headstock is a palm tree inlaid in white and green pearl and the signature of "Freddie Tavares" in black. Kluson Deluxe closed-back 'no-name' tuners with oval metal buttons. On the back of the headstock is a decal with "DE 4 / 074 of 153 / Custom Shop / USA" in black. Four-bolt neck plate engraved "Custom Shop / USA". Aluminium tremolo cover engraved " Freddie Tavares / Commemorative / Aloha / Stratocaster". Three 'Single Lace Sensor' pickups with staggered polepieces and specially wound outputs of 4.82k, 6.95k, and 4.57k, respectively. Specially hand engraved aluminium pickguard (continuing Ron Chacey's Hawaiian scene from the body) with eleven screws. Three controls (one volume, two tone) plus five-way selector switch, all on the treble side of the pickguard. Special chrome Stratocaster knobs with knurled sides. Fender "Synchronized Tremolo" combined 'six-saddle' bridge/tailpiece, special chrome tremolo arm. This 'as new' example is in mint (9.50) condition and is in it's baby blue leather Custom Shop gig bag which in turn is housed in the original SKB flightcase with all the original kit. The 'case candy' includes the baby blue leather Custom Shop gig bag with matching shoulder strap, the baby blue Custom Shop Aloha guitar strap, tremolo arm, lead, polish etc., plus all papers including the Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity. Bellamy's Aloha is №74 out of the 153 produced.
