This concert will be part of the European leg of "The Resistance" tour, announced on the 1st of June.[1] Fan pre-sale information and links were announced on the 3rd of June.[5] Pre-sale took place on the 5th–6th[5] and general sale started on the 6th.[1] In an announcement on the Parken Stadium website it was stated that 17,000 tickets were on sale, which only include the grass and parts of the tribunes[2]—usually, the Parken Stadium can host up to around 50,000 visitors for concerts.[6] The concert was arranged by Beatbox Concerts.[3]

On playing songs from "The Resistance" live, Dominic Howard stated that learning to do so "should take a while!"[7] and Rehearsals started on the 19th of July.[8] On the 22nd, musewire readers were told to "expect an 8" stone 'enge" for The Resistance tour's stage design.[9]
