The University of Guadalajara's Cultural Division were the first to announce the show (via MySpace).[3] Iguapop, the promoters in charge of the April 12th gig in Mexico City last year later announced the show on their website.[1]
On May 30th the official Muse website confirmed this concert, along with two more dates. Pre-sale started the same day via Ticketmaster,[4] while general sale started June 1st at 11:00.[2]
Before the gig, Muse signed copies of HAARP at a local store called "Mixup Centro Magno Av Vallarta". The signing was supposed to last for fifty minutes, between 15:00 and 15:50 [5], but it lasted for about 35 minutes, starting at 15:00. Around 300 people queued but only about 130 of them could get their autographs[6] (watch).
After New Born, Dominic Howard covered the bass drum with a Mexican flag. Then, the audience started to chant "Mexico, Mexico!".[7] A trumpeter (Gilberto Cervantes from a local band "La Dosis") was there to play the solo of City of Delusion and the trumpet part of Knights of Cydonia. The balloons were released during Plug in Baby.
City of Delusion was played for the last time exactly two years after it's debut to live sets.
