The trio were later joined by friends, class mate Cecilie Dyrberg (synth) and Piotrek Wasilewski (bass). In early 2002, they changed their name to Dúné. Shortly fater Kolstrup bought his first analog synthesizer, the band started working on material stronlgly inspired by 80s music.

They released their first demo CD called ''Let's Jump'' in 2003, the same year they brought two more members into the band, Ole Bjørn Sørensen (synth) and Danny Jungslund (guitar), before releasing their two first EPs, ''Rock, Synth’n’Roll'' in 2004 and ''Go Go Robot'' in 2005. In 2006, the band had their international breakthrough with their debut single ''Bloodlines'' and they signed a deal with Sony Music Europe. Their debut full-length album, ''We Are In There You Are Out Here'', was released in 2007. In 2008, after supporting  Panic! at the Disco, Muse and Foo Fighters, the band started working on their second album ''Enter Metropolis'', which was eventually released in 2009. After moving to Germany in 2010, the band lost Dyrberg to focus on her own music, and in 2011, Aarup-Sørensen and Troelsgaard also left the band. In 2012 however, Kolstrup and the remaining members started working on a new album called ''Wild Hearts'', which was released a year later, in 2013. In 2014, they moved back to Denmark and in 2015, they signed a deal with Universal Music. In 2016, they released their last album, ''Delta'' (stylised as DELTA).
 
In 2018, the band split-up to focus on individual projects.
