St. Jakobshalle is an indoor arena in the municipality of Münchenstein, part of the district of Arlesheim in Basel, Switzerland. The arena broke ground in 1971 and opened in 1976. It was designed by architect Giovanni Panozzo. The arena houses different halls and rooms, used for different types of events. The main hall holds up to 9,000 people.
Since it's completion, the arena hosts the annual Swiss indoors men's tennis tournament since and the Women's Top Volley International competition since 1989. The CSI Basel equestrian tournament is held in the arena since 2010. The building also hosted the 1986 World Men's Handball Championship, the 2006 European Men's Handball Championship, the 1991 Swiss Open Badminton tournament and the World Men's Curling Championship in 2012 and 2016, amongst others. The arena was home to EHC Basel, an ice hockey team, between 1976 to 2002, until they moved to St. Jakob Arena.
