Cold War Kids are an indie rock band from Fullerton, California, USA. Band members are Nathan Willett (vocals, piano), Matthew Schwartz (guitar/keyboards), Matt Maust (bass guitar), David Quon (guitar) and Joe Plummer (drums). Former members include Jonnie Russell (guitar until 2012), Matt Aveiro (drums until 2013) and Dann Gallucci (guitar/keys between 2012 and 2016). Active since 2004, the band have released seven studio albums, Robbers & Cowards (2006), Loyalty to Loyalty (2008), Mine Is Yours (2011), Dear Miss Lonelyhearts (2013), Hold My Home (2014), L.A. Divine (2017) and New Age Norms 1 (2019).
The band's influences include Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley and The Velvet Underground aswell as U2, Nick Cave, Tom Waits and others. They are known for their blues rock-influenced indie rock sound.
Cold War Kids supported Muse during their August 2007 North America tour.
