Madness was announced as the first single released from The 2nd Law. It was confirmed on Muse's website on 2^nd August 2012 that it would be released on the 20^th August 2012. The song was leaked onto the internet hours before it was supposed to be debuted, which was caused by a mistake of the record-label in Korea.
