A very influential hard rock band staring their career in 1978. Lead by guitarist Eddie Van Halen, the band also consisted of his brother Alex Van Halen (drums), bassist Michael Anthony, and vocalist David Lee Roth. In 1984, David Lee Roth would be replaced with Sammy Hagar. Roth would return in 2006, with Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen succeeding Anthony in the same year. Eddie's flashy, highly technical guitar techniques would prove to be very influential on bands that came after him, including Matt Bellamy, who has cited him as an influence. Eddie Van Halen died October 6th, 2020 of cancer, ending the band.
