Summer Festivals Tour 2018 | ← | Simulation Theory Promo Shows | → | Simulation Theory World Tour |
A short tour Muse did right at the end of 2018 and begining of 2019, in support of their, then newly released album, Simulation Theory.
The tour consisted of TV show appearances, a few small gigs, few festivals in United States, and two bigger performances, one in Royal Albert Hall in London, and another (biggest) one, at San Mames stadium, in Bilbao, Spain.
Information
As a promotional tour for the Simulation Theory, there were several debuts made during the tour. These are: Dig Down (Acoustic Gospel Version), The Dark Side, Something Human, Pressure, Algorithm & Break It to Me. A cover of Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf also made its live debut (being the only tour which the cover was played on), as did the Smashing Pumpkins jam, and the Metal medley.
Since the Brooklyn performance, Matt started wearing with new light-up LED shades, and a special illuminating LED jacket, both of which were used during the Simulation Theory World Tour, and Morgan's gotten a cap.
Stage design
This being a promo tour, a strict stage design didn't appear on each gig. There were, however, a number of gigs, which used the same lighting, which included a mixture of moving beam lights and LED strips, placed on trussing behind the band. These appeared at the Reeperbahn and Royal Albert Hall gigs, aswel as the iHeartRadio Theater, The Aragon, the Barclays Center, The Forum and the Hollywood Palladium gigs.

Exceptions
- Songs like Something Human, or covers like Hungry Like the Wolf were only played at a certain promotional gig, with no further appearences.
- The Handler (in its full version) and Hysteria (with Interlude) were only played at Hamburg, the first gig of this Promo Show tour.
- Also songs like Showbiz, Dead Star (shortened) were played at the Royal Albert Hall gig, and the Smashing Pumpkins Jam at Chicago.
- Mercy was played twice, it was the main set closer at the Hamburg gig and the Bilbao gig, then it was dropped from the setlists.
- Before the release of Simulation Theory, Dig Down was still played (until the Bilbao gig), then it was dropped. Algorithm and Break It to Me made they live debut at the Royal Albert Hall gig. The same gig where the Metal medley was played for the first time.
