Information
First Muse performance in Australia.
The first of two performances recorded for triple j Live at the Wireless programme. Muse also performed two songs - Uno and Muscle Museum - on the television programme "The 10:30 Slot" around this time.
The Show
Before Agitated the intro riff of Hyper Music can be heard, and at the ending of Showbiz some random screaming too, with some words like "I don't love you" (like in the chorus). This indicates that Hyper Music started to be composed during this time.
This performance is notoriously wild, in a similar fashion to the famous London Astoria 2000 performance just over a month before.
Speech
Bellamy | Before Uno | "Hello, this is Muse". |
Before Sunburn | "This next song is called Sunburn".
After Sunburn | "Yeah, right, it's uh, Muse, you know, we're on the radio, we're live at the wireless on triple j, urm, here we go"
After Agitated | "Yes yes, it's all true. All the rumours, are true".
Before Cave | "This next song, is called Cave. It's about an old friend of mine, he's not a friend any more, oh ..."
Before Muscle Museum | "This song is called um, it's called Muscle Museum"
Before Showbiz | "It's our last song, Showbiz. Remember the Tongs?"
End of Ashamed | [Distorted vocals, similar to those of Execution Commentary, some Hyper Music lyrics]
After Ashamed | "Thank you very much, thank you very much, good evening, good bye". |
Media
The performance was broadcast via radio. The recording was made into a bootleg, which was uploaded online in lossless (FLAC) format. This recording can be heard on MuseBootlegs here as well as below.
