Matt on the Gibson Les Paul DC Lite: This is a Gibson Les Paul (Slimline Double Cutaway). This was his main guitar for the most of the touring in 2000, until Bellamy rammed it into a Marshall 4x12 at the Dublin Olympia.[1] Apparently the object taped below the bridge is "a piece of bass fretboard".[2]
The DC Lite also has gold hardware.
It also appears that Matt had another Les Paul DC Lite, with the exact same specs as the gold version (apart from this guitar had chrome hardware and no Roland GK2 MIDI pickup.) This guitar also had black tape around the edge of it. A video of the guitar can be found here
