Just a thought.. instead of "So I will close my ears to the falling with the crowd" could the lyrics be "So I will close my ears to fall in with the crowd"?

I definitely hear "listen to your retro shout", rather than "listen to your air/try to shout". The second doesn't even really fit. I like sleeping 03:01, 24 June 2009 (BST)
